It must be clear by now that Tbilisi shares both old and new architectural marvels. The Di Lucchi bridge is one of the most obvious examples:
But there's also stuff like this. It's unclear to me who lives in these constructions, but in the outskirts of Tbilisi there's quite some extravagant buildings, like this UFO:
Also, I finally found out what the elephant trunk in the central Rike Park exactly is: it's a theatre. But, of course, unfinished, and let's say: there's a lot of constructive criticism on it ...
But there's also the remnants of the past, of course. The ancient, and the recent. This one is obviously not too old, but look at the relief in the bottom left corner!
The irony of Soviet buildings being used for the most Capitalist purposes, like the GUM department store at the Red Square, and this construction in Tbilisi, now used as a casino:
But this crazy construction beats them all! So take a proper seat, make yourself a cup of tea, and enjoy the headquarters of the Georgian Bank (Sakartvelos Banki), on the banks of the Mktvari:
